Description of free places on the team
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- proficiency at least in one of areas specified below, at least basic english knowledge
- internet (ICQ, e-mail etc.)
- determination to work hard in free time
- discretion, team work
POSITIONS
Designer
Gamedesign in it's purest form. It covers story writing, writing of design documents, eventually random
encounter. We haven't been looking for anyone to take this position for a long time now. Feel free to post your
small ideas as to designer's work on our forum, or write an e-mail.
Text writer
Writer of dialogs, floats, holodisks, labels and few other tidbits. Because of generally high requirements
(experience / talent + knowledge of Fallout world + ability to work productively with other people's design
documents), we sometimes experience a little shortage here.
Translator
Still open possibility for Czechs/Slovaks. Translator (surprisingly) puts the work of text writers and
designers, or eventually somebody else, into english. One hundres percent knowledge of english is not required,
because of proofreaders availability. Because of cooperation of people from different parts of world,
translations are a little bit more stressed with us than usual.
Corrector
Corrector of czech and english texts for the game and internal documents. Czech revisal is fully staffed, in
case or english revisal, number of candidates are being considered.
3d graphics artist
A rather frequently filled position in BGE. However, there are never enough 3d graphics artists, if you're
"dumb" enough to do something so megalomaniac. Smile 3d modeler spends most of his time over ingame objects and
their transformation to fallout palette. Maybe some help with monster animations, talking heads, town arts etc.
would be also welcome.
Artwork guy
Works on town arts (town loading screens) and other low priority sketches. This position is rather skill-
requiring, thus even external/one-time professional help is welcome.
Animator
Person working on completely new characters / critters or expanding the abilities of those current ones. We
aren't looking for more animators at the moment, but if a skilled animator appears by any chance, some side
work could surely be found.
Graphics converter
Or transformer of 3d models into fallout palette, numbering "awesome" 256 colors. Exhausting and painstaking,
but crucial work!
Sound artist
Member of team dealing with sound loops for locations and specific sounds. As one sound artist is long aboard
and one is being evaluated, we aren't currently looking for someone to fill this position.
Mapper
Working with more-or-less accurate templates. Can be merged with smaller jobs like characters prototype editor,
graphics convertor etc., or (external) mapper of random encounters without greater creative restrictions. Good
thing is, that with mappers, mother language and origin aren't much of a concern. Mappers are currently not
very sought after.
Programmer
Mostly works with output of mappers and text writers. He then sends texts to english translators. We are
looking for script writers all the time (all active programmers are college students), however non czech-
speaking programmer would have to wait for a few weeks before being introduced to his work.
FUTURE FREE POSITIONS
Russian / polish translator
As Poland and Russia are nations of ultimate Fallout geeks and our experience with polish modders are very
good, we aren't unfamiliar with the idea of translating english version into these two languages. As two-
language development is really difficult to manage, the whole idea is now in "maybe" state. So if you're Polish
and you have an able team willing to achieve something at your disposal, let us know.
Dubber
If there are heads, there'll have to be voices too. But it certainly won't be czech voices.
NOTE: if you have contacted us about one of the positions before and you haven't been replied since, please let
us know once again - correspondence could had been filtered out by spam filter, or so.
